Can Computers Create Humor?

in what they can cover, there is little doubt that the construction of humor is generally regarded as creative, with the most successful creators of humor sometimes being hailed as “comic geniuses.” This suggests that the task of getting a computer to produce humor falls within the area of computational creativity, and any general theory of creativity should have something to say about humor. This article reviews some of the work in computational humor, makes some observations about the more general issues that these projects raise, and considers this work from the viewpoint of creativity, concluding with an outline of some of the challenges ahead.
